How To Be An American Idol or Australian Idol

Finding the right Singing Teacher is a difficult task if you want to achieve your goals of being a STAR in the Music Industry.

Many of those who have made it into the finals of the American, Canadian or Australian Idol have done the hard work and have trained for many years with good Singing Teachers.

To be lucky enough to get the best teacher around you need to search carefully. Word-of-mouth is often the most successful approach. Often the best Singing Teachers are in demand and they often are a little bit more expensive than others. But, the investment is worth it in the long run.

Vocal and Breathing Exercises are only part of the overall picture. A good teacher will tackle phrasing, expression, tone, depth and much more.

One of the most important aspects to Music and Singing is "emotion". The aim of every singer should be to move his audience in one way or another. One way of doing this is through a process I call "The Singer's Theory of Relativity". It's the contrasts in life that make it so amazing. It's the contrasts in music that make a song interesting. These contrasts stir emotions making an audience melancholy or happy. How often does a good singer send a shiver down your spine? Probably not often enough!

The next step is Presentation. To complete the picture, you need to have focus as you perform your songs. The right gestures at the right time can really sell a song. Conversely, the right gestures at the wrong time can look "corny". The correct use of a microphone is another vital element to making a top performer.

So, take the plunge and follow your dream. With the right advice and plenty of practice plus a will to achieve, you could one day be up there on the stage, viewed by millions of people, as the next IDOL! Good luck!
